Falun dafa

Yesterday, when i was walking down Queens st. I saw this... I felt it was really scary...

They are the people that practices Falun Dafa and is encouraging others to join them and protest against the prosecution that's going on in China. I also got a brochure....
Falun dafa is said to be an ancient Chinese cultivation system for improvement of mind, body and spirit. But i think its all bull..

In China, thousands of Falun gong practitioners were prosecuted by the government.. some of the practitioners set them selves on fire in order to show their strength to the government, even children were burned alive. They think that it is alright for them to die because they will go to heaven..ridiculous isn't it? then why dont everyone who practices falun dafa kill themselves and all of them will go to heaven. They also think that if they get sick all they have to do is to believe that the falun gong will cure them and it is unnecessary to see a doctor... ????

I think it's a type of cult that lure people into believing that they will become invincible if they practice the falun dafa.. This is all just CRAZY!!!

Everyone has their own beliefs and no one can say who's believe is right and whose is wrong. but i think a believe that teaches you to hurt and kill yourselve is so so wrong... Especially for those innocent babies and young children that is sacrificed because of their parents beliefs. So sad...

But it is also wrong for the China government to just prosecute everyone who practices it. Cause most of them are also victims that has their brain washed into believing Falun dafa..Although it would be really hard, the government should find a way to pull them out of all these ridiculous beliefs and not just kill all of them..

Subject: A Note on Falun Gong

Hi Keli,

Just wanted to say I was very sorry to see your blog post from today, and it prompted me to write you this note. I am quite sad to see your misunderstanding of Falun Gong.

I'm a 22 year old graduate from the Australian National University, where I studied English and philosophy. Now I'm in Taiwan, studying Chinese and teaching English. I've practiced Falun Gong for close to four years and I think it's great. I haven't paid a cent to anyone, it's very easy going, there are no leaders, no buildings, no organisation at all. Just some books on the internet, and people who want to read them and do the exercises together. For the last nearly 2 years I've also been busy trying to let more people know about the terrible persecution, too. For example, I am helping to make a series of posters with another practitioner in Finland and one in Australia. We just organise how to do things ourselves, in our free time and whatever. I'm just a regular 20-something year old, I'm the same as anyone else my age, except I read the Falun Gong books, do the meditations in the morning, and if you were in Canberra you'd see me at the kind of protests you refer to in your blog post.

I would urge you to take a look through the teachings of Falun Gong yourself. I can only guess that you got your information about Falun Gong from Chinese state media. Were you aware that from 1992 to 1999 Falun Gong was extremely popular in mainland China, that Li Hongzhi (the founder) received numerous awards and official praise, and that the Chinese ambassador in France even invited him to come to France to teach the practice? They used to teach Falun Gong in Chinese Embassies--I wonder if you knew that? In 1999, the health minister is on record saying that if more people practiced Falun Gong and other qigong disciplines, it would save the country a lot of money. That was in February, I believe.

It's no coincidence that only after the persecution started did state media start reporting that Falun Gong practitioners were supposedly killing themselves, going crazy, and even poisoning beggars, as I've read in one ridiculous report. No investigation of any of these cases was permitted, of course, and in a few that were somehow investigated independently, journalists found that the people didn't even exist, or the crimes were completely unrelated to Falun Gong practitioners. Xinhua blamed a case of 16 beggars being poisoned in Zhejiang Province on practitioners, but there was not a shred of evidence for that. Local media said the case was still under investigation, but Xinhua just made up their own story to demonize Falun Gong practitioners. Nowhere else in the world has anything like this happened. I've practiced for four years, read all the books numerous times, and have met hundreds of practitioners. I can read the books in Chinese now. Do you think I'm going to go out and poison beggars? It sounds absurd, right? I'm just a normal guy who wants to follow this spiritual path. It's free, and it makes me concentrate better, feel healthy and clearheaded, and has changed my life in many ways that I could not explain in just a few words.

What you have said about Falun Gong's beliefs is simply untrue--any grain of truth, such as the teachings of medicine--seem to have been completely misunderstood. There is simply no rule at all that you cannot take medicine. What Falun Gong teaches is much more complex than that, and there are certainly no hard and fast rules, only metaphysical principles which any individual may chose to adopt. These are based on righteous principles to begin with, each individual can read and understand them as they wish. No one will tell you that you cannot do this or that. When I first read Zhuan Falun and learnt the exercises, I took drugs, drank alcohol, and engaged in casual sex for about nine months. Those things are all against Falun Gong's principles, but no one told me what to do. This is about an individual disciplining his or her own self, coming to understand things for themselves, and consciously, personally engaging in a spiritual and ethical discipline. At that time, I didn't even think twice about that stuff. I kept reading the books because they fascinated me, however, and decided that this is the path I wanted to take. So I just stopped doing drugs and all that. Simple. Aside from that, freedom of belief is a fundamental human right. There is also absolutely nothing in Falun Gong's teachings that are harmful to oneself or harmful to others--that's for sure, and you can verify it for yourself. Everything is freely available on the internet.

I'd also like to address the Tiananmen Square "self-immolation" incident you refer to. It was faked by the Chinese Communist Party. This is a really notorious case of what they have done to frame Falun Gong. You can watch documentaries about it on the net. Here's a couple, this first one is about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cek-6yplMAE; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErmImHogSKc&feature=related -- I read somewhere that these videos received over a million hits across a number of youtube-like websites over the Olympic period alone. This second doco is longer, and I seem to recall it also talked about it. This is produced by the Canadian Broacasting Corporation: http://www.david-kilgour.com/2007/Dec_06_2007_01a.htm. It's being hosted on the website of a former Canadian foreign minister, who does not practice Falun Gong, but who supports the practice, and who believes the persecution is atrocious. He is co-author of a report which concludes that Falun Gong practitioners have been killed in their tens of thousands in China, systematically, so their organs can be harvested and sold. But that's another story.

I think you raise a good question on your blog: if practitioners believe burning themselves to death is something good for them, why don't they all do it? I can tell you why, that is simply because practitioner don't believe this at all. You can read the books for yourself, just go to www.falundafa.org, and look for Zhuan Falun (the main text). There's a chapter on "The Issue of Killing." Of course Falun Gong opposes all forms of killing. I'd have to be a lunatic to want to burn myself like that, of course the teachings have nothing to do with this kind of violent and extremist behaviour, anything like that is completely against the core principles of Falun Gong.

The persecution of Falun Gong is a terrible human rights tragedy. There are reports from Amnesty International, Columbia Journal of Asian Law, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture, Human Rights Watch, from big newspapers like New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post. Journalists have won awards for exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, but they had their credentials revoked and were kicked out of China afterwards. I can find you the refs if you want. I've spoken and heard directly the experiences of practitioners who have escaped from China. In China these people are tortured and beaten to death for their beliefs--even old women--it's horrendous and absurd.

If you want to get to the bottom of whose telling the truth, it really shouldn't be difficult. I'll leave you to it, I guess. I compiled a list for someone else a while ago, about academic commentary on Falun Gong. So let me know if you want me to send it to you, and you can read it at your leisure. It's basically excerpts on different aspects of this topic, with the sources. I can even send you the pdfs if you want. You can check out wikipedia for more info, or faluninfo.net, which is a very well researched website.

You can see a large report from Amnesty International here, which they published at the beginning of the persecution (http://www.amnesty.org/en/library/asset/ASA17/011/2000/en/dom-ASA170112000en.html). Amnesty includes a case of a Falun Gong practitioner being persecuted in their recent China campaign (http://www.amnesty.org/en/appeals-for-action/end-persection-falun-gong-practitioner). Falun Gong practitioners are two thirds of reported torture cases in China, according to the UN, and half of the labor camp population, according to the US State Dept.. All this information is readily available on the net. Honestly, if you just do a few hours of reading from independent sources you will quickly find that this is a peaceful group of people following an innocent spiritual discipline. I myself am proof of that. I practice Falun Gong to be a good person, and this practice has taught me an enormous amount about myself and about life. I stopped taking drugs, stopping getting blind drunk all the time, and stopped smoking copious amounts of marijuana after I started practicing Dafa. I was harming myself at that time, and was not really happy. For the last several years I have felt much calmer in myself, without so many of the troubles and anxieties that used to bother me. I feel like I have realised that all I need to do is be myself, be calm, and not worry about so many things. If you realised the crazy injustice of this persecution you may be overwhelmed by the situation. It's truly bewildering that people who just want to cultivate their hearts are tortured to death without restraint. If I was in China I would have been shoved in jail or sent to a forced labor camp by now, I can't imagine.

Anyway, I hope you can take a sincere look at these videos and links I have posted. Let me know if you have any more questions, I would be happy to answer them.

You have my very best wishes.

Matt.

Maybe you should not believe everthing the communist regime says to you.FAlun Gong practitioners have never harmed themsleves or others. The false self immolation in Tiannamen square is just one of those lies that has been told to the Chinese to incite hatred against a portion of the Chinese population.Isnt this what they have done every ten years or so. Started a new persecution on another group?

Why do they do this?? To keep you scared and not question their power over you.

Here are some facts about the perseutions they commit over the last 60 years and ther is also alink to to the FALSE self immoliation staged hoax.

The Chinese Communist regime commits genocide upon others, and mostly to date its own countrymen.

Chinese Communism seems to be torturing and killing some group of people every decade.

1949 - Chinese Communism came to power in China. During World War II, they hung around villages, recruited members & ate for free. The communist only fought 2 battles; the rest of the fights were left to the Kuomintang. As a result, the number of Kuomintang soldiers decreased. When World War II ended, the communist came out in droves & chased the Kuomintang away.

1950s - The persecution of Tibetans began.

1966 - Cultural Revolution. All the good traditions and believes of ancient China were destroyed and trampled upon.

1989 - Tiananmen Massacre. Students were shot and rolled over by tanks for protesting. The communist regime have still not been accountable for this massacre and today deny to its youth that it ever happened.

1999 - Persecution of Falun Gong. Soon after, the communists began to make money from harvesting organs of Falun Gong disciples who would not give up their faith in Truth compassion and Forbearance.

2008 – Attack Tibetan Monks and civilians and impose a media black out so the world cannot see anode Tiananmen Square massacre.

I remembered the old "seem to be strong" communist Russia crumbled overnight, and it all began with the people losing faith in communism. That is exactly what is happening in China today.

Communist China is imploding.

1 more fact - 60 years of communism in China killed a minimum of 80 million Chinese people...and that's in China alone. The rest of the figures of unnatural deaths under communist rule (ex & current communist-controlled countries) can all be found in the "Black Book of Communism".
80 million, that's more than the total death rates of World War 1 & 2.

Read the 9 commentaries at
http://ninecommentaries.com/
Nearly 39million have quit the Ccp and all its affiliated organizations. Some say that China has changed but I don’t think so please read recent words from Ccp.

False self immolation hoax

http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/special_column/self-immolation.html

The Facts Speak for Themselves
Liu Chunling died from being struck on the head, not from self-immolation.

Washington Post article revealed Liu Chunling did not actually practice Falun Gong.

Plastic Sprite bottle, supposedly filled with gasoline, remained unburned in Wang's hands.

Wang Jindong's meditation movements were not Falun Gong.

How many self-immolators were there? And who were they?

Several Individuals Play the Role of Wang Jindong.

Twelve-year-old Liu Siying sings after tracheotomy, dies mysteriously.

Video-footage did not come from CNN as CCTV claimed.

Fire extinguishers suddenly appear on Tiananmen Square the same day as the Self-Immolation.

Falun Gong teachings prohibit killing, including suicide.

PLease wake up to it, The Ccp is murdering good people. They always have.

hey guys,
Thanks for your comments and really sorry if I've offended you in any way.I was probably a little too harsh. I do think that everyone has the right to choose their own beliefs as i mentioned in my blog and also do not think the prosecution in China is right. I would seriously take time to look into the facts and hope that it may change my mind about the falun dafa...

HI Keli, sorry to have sounded so harsh on you. You have not offended Falun Gong practitioners. We are just concerned that so many people especially Chinese people have been lied to by the Ccp with their malcious proporganda about Falun Gong.

FAlun Gong is from China and long ago before LaoTsu taught the Dao Falun Gong was the principle path of the Tao in China . It has been retaught to day and one day soon all the Chinese people when they are free from the unChinese imported communism they too will see the truth of FAlun Gong and be rightly and truely proud of the Chinese nation.

Dont miss this chance check it you for yourself.

Best wishs
